ABOUT ABOUT

To Kalon has been called the first planted vineyard of America. Today, this incredible land has six vineyards claiming ownership of various regions. However, To Kalon is primarily owned by two vineyards and is the source of grapes for dozens of winemakers in the region. Robert Mondavi is the proud owner of 450 acres. One of the most unique attributes of this land is the clonal diversity. Different clones of the same grape offer very distinct wines. You are going to learn about this original American vineyard which has been recognized as early as 150 years ago. Taste part of American winemaking history and learn how the various tastes are produced from To Kalon. To some it’s a place, to others a brand all its own.

Julie Handel, Fine Wine Regional Manager will host a seminar, where you will learn first-hand about the history of To Kalon vineyard in Napa Valley while tasting through some of the finest wines produced from the vineyard. This seminar will introduce you to the history of the vineyard, the importance of the vineyard to winemaking in California and what makes this land truly the first growth of Napa Valley. To Kalon is historically known as the "the place of highest beauty" in Napa Valley.
